Dear Marist Family administrators and leaders,

I write to share with you the official decision of our Provincial Council to close Marist High School, Bayonne, NJ in June, 2020.

This is a sad day for the students and family at Marist and for all of us in the Marist Family as well. We all have loved and cherished this ministry for over 65 years. But, despite extraordinary efforts by the School Board, Administration, faculty, parents, alumni, friends and the Province for many years, the USA Province and Marist High School simply do not have the funds to continue school operations after this academic year.

Please join me in gratitude to President Peter Kane and Principal Alice Miesnik for all their dedication, sacrifice and efforts for Marist High School. We are grateful as well to the Marist School Board members, caring and committed administrators, staff and faculty, very loyal and generous alumni, and dedicated and involved parents and friends of the school.

I attach to this email a copy of the press released prepared by Marist. Please share this information with your staff and those who are familiar with Marist.
Most important, In the days and weeks ahead, please keep the Marist Bayonne family in your prayers and concern as they move on to conclude this academic year.

God bless you and your ministry.

Brother Patrick McNamara, FMS
