As a result of the recent Lay Assembly, the Marist Office of Life and Mission is pleased to announce the implementation of a new program, Discovering Our Call (DOC). DOC is a formation program, geared toward those who are working outside of school ministries. The province has had in place the Sharing Our Call programs for over 20 years now, and many of our school personnel have attended.
Discovering Our Call will be similar to Sharing Our Call 1, a basic level introduction to the Marist charism and spirituality. It will include presentations on Marcellin Champagnat’s life, the Marist Pillars, the Marist Virtues, as well as time to reflect on one’s own spiritual journey in the Marist way. All Marists of Champagnat, lay and brothers, are invited to participate.
The initial offering of Discovering Our Call will be held at Esopus, February 15-17, beginning with dinner on Friday and ending with brunch on Sunday. Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday evening. The cost is $150, which includes accommodations, food and materials, as well as the chance to wander our beautiful Esopus property. ( Scholarships are available – please do not let cost prohibit your attendance). Spaces are limited! First come, first served…
