Brother Philip Richard Degagne has been ministering to the people of the Laredo, Texas area since 1959. He started out at our School, St. Joseph Academy, and when our school closed its doors in 1973, he and many other Marist Brothers continued to minister to the people of Laredo in different, ways.
For Brother Philip, one of those Ministries was at San Martin de Porres Church. Brother Philip has served the people of the parish and many others for the past 38 years.
On Wednesday, July 26, 2023, the people of San Martin de Porres and the Greater Laredo Community, joined to begin the First of Two major Celebrations to express their gratitude to Brother Philip and the Marist Brothers.
The Celebration at San Martin started with Mass followed with a small reception in the Parish Hall. Many people came to the Mass and Reception to express their gratitude for all that Brother Philip and the Marist Brothers have done for them and the Greater community of Laredo.
