Br. Larry Lavalee has officially arrived in Manila and moved into his new place. He was in Cambodia for a week-long meeting before having a great farewell party in Davao.

Br. Larry is now living in a compound called MAPAC (Marist Asian Pacific Academy Center) and is located in the Marikina City District of Metro Manila. On the property there are 5 residences, a chapel, and a dining hall. They are on a hill overlooking the Marist grade school, high school, and college. The entire set-up is huge and very pretty with a lot of foliage.

In the buildings there are 18 student Brothers, 10 Postulants, and 8 staff members who are Brothers. Although one of the residences is for staff, Br. Larry is living in the Chanel residence with nine 1st and 2nd year vowed student Brothers. He is the Director of that crew.

Br. Larry is teaching English to many different groups – Postulants, student Brothers, etc. and they started classes August 26th. If you thought Davao was international, the new staff, student Brothers, and Postulants include the following nationalities: United States (Br. Larry), East Timor, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Papua New Guinea, Pakistan, Kiribati, Samoa, Mexico, Phillippines, Australia, China, and Fiji. It’s a fascinating group and Br. Larry knew a good number of them from their time in Davao.
