This year, Br. Gerard organized an outdoor art exhibition held in the Garth at Champagnat Hall on August 25th, which also was his 94th birthday! It is the fourth such exhibition he has organized since joining the community in 2015.
Br. Gerard exhibited over 50 acrylic/watercolor paintings, most of which were painted after his 90thbirthday. A number of paintings were available to purchase and proceeds will go toward the work being done with our elder Brothers at Champagnat Hall.
For the second year in a row Paint Nite led those who were brave enough in yet another adventure in painting. Last year over 30 people participated in this event and were able to leave with their own unique paintings. Usually held in popular bars and restaurants, Paint Nite events have been held in over 1,500 locations across the US and Canada.
Join us for the Fifth Annual Courtyard Art Festival at Champagnat Hall, August 25th, from 2:00-4:00 o’clock in the afternoon. Refreshments will be served. By the way, August 25 is also Br. Gerard’s birthday. He’ll be 94!….And still painting!
