Season of Creation 2026

Week 4: Becoming Streams of Living Water

September 21–27, 2026

As the Season of Creation continues, Jesus’ invitation to those who thirst gives us another way to reflect on living water. In John 7:37–39, he speaks of water flowing from the hearts of those who believe. We receive God’s gift, but we are also called to let it reach others.

The Season of Creation 2026 prayer asks us to recognize water as sacred and to repent of the ways we have treated it merely as a resource to use. It calls us to care for watersheds and to seek justice for the communities and creatures that depend on them. Prayer can help us see those responsibilities more clearly, then move us toward action.

Call to Contemplation: Living Water

Take time this week to pray with Jesus’ words in John 7:37–39. Think of a person or place experiencing thirst: for safe water, for nourishment, or for the hope that comes from being cared for.

Where might God be asking you to let living water flow through your life and toward someone else?

You may also pray with the Season of Creation Prayer 2026: Living Water, allowing its concern for water and justice to shape what you notice in your own community.

Call to Action: Grow and Share Food

In Ezekiel’s vision, trees grow beside the river and bear fruit for nourishment (Ezekiel 47:12). This week, consider one way to help fresh, nourishing food reach others.

If you have space, grow something edible, even a few herbs in a container. Share produce with a neighbor, support a community garden, or learn whether a school or ministry near you has a project that helps people grow food. Where you have a voice in community decisions, encourage practices that make safe, nourishing food more accessible.

Let the action you choose be a response to the river’s promise: life can flourish where we make room for it.
