Archbishop Molloy High School welcomed the Class of 2030 into its Marist community during the Freshman One Day Retreat on September 3.

The retreat introduced students to the five Marist Pillars: Presence, Simplicity, Family Spirit, Love of Work and In the Way of Mary. Through prayer, presentations and shared activities, freshmen began exploring how these values can shape their relationships, their choices and their years at Molloy.

Students lit their class candle as a symbol of their shared journey and participated in experiences designed to build trust and strengthen new friendships. Among the day’s activities was a blindfolded obstacle course, which invited students to rely on one another as they navigated an unfamiliar path.

More than an opportunity to meet classmates, the retreat encouraged students to consider what it means to be part of a Marist school community. Freshmen were invited to see themselves as faith-filled young people called to serve others and become agents of justice in the world around them.

The day also included a collection of school supplies that would later be placed inside backpacks donated by Molloy seniors and given to children and families through St. Marguerite’s Food Pantry at Our Lady of Fatima Parish. The project gave the Class of 2030 an early opportunity to put the values discussed during the retreat into practice.

Led by Molloy’s Campus Ministry team, the retreat offered the freshman class a meaningful beginning rooted in faith, belonging and the Marist mission.
