Three of Brother Rene Roy’s former students from Rwanda flew into Massachusetts from Oklahoma and Texas (where they now live to visit him at Mary Immaculate nursing home, where he now lives. The group stayed at the Marist Community of Welcome in Lawrence, MA. During their trip, they took Br. Rene to breakfast, Mass, and back to his former residence at Sheridan Street for a meal and to watch football. Brother Rene spent his day hysterically laughing as they shared stories of their old escapades in Rwanda when they were teenagers. He said it was the best medicine and enjoyed his day reconnecting with past students (and an excuse to get out of the nursing home for the day!).
