Members of the Marists of Champagnat from the New York and New Jersey area gathered on Saturday, April 18 for a time of prayer, reflection, and fellowship at the House of Welcome in Flushing, Queens.

Led by Alice Miesnik, Br. Hank Hammer, and Marists of Champagnat USA Director Maureen Hagan, the gathering focused on the Calls of the General Chapter and how they might be lived more deeply in the shared mission of accompanying young people.

Br. Mike Sheerin, who hosted the gathering, reflected on the significance of the moment. He noted that it was the first time the local Brothers had reflected on the Calls of the General Chapter together with Lay Marists.

The evening concluded with a shared meal prepared by Richard Karsten and Br. Luis Ramos, offering a fitting moment of hospitality and community for those gathered.

Gatherings such as this continue to strengthen the partnership between Marist Brothers and Lay Marists as they live the Marist mission together and seek new ways to accompany young people in today’s world.
