On Wednesday, Sam King attended a meeting with the Religious Organizations Along the River (ROAR), a network of religious congregations and organizations concerned with the sustainable and regenerative use of land in the Hudson Valley Bioregion. ROAR is supporting a Spirit of Place climate training this weekend in Olivebridge and organizing an advocacy campaign on The “Leachate Loophole,” a set of regulatory gaps that allow the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers to be polluted by landfill leachate – the toxic liquid that is created as water percolates through landfills.
