New York and New Jersey Marists of Champagnat (and friends) served at the Xavier Mission Welcome Table on March 9th as part of our Lenten Hearts in Action Initiative. Over 1000 meals were served to approximately 800 people!
A group from Chicago made sandwiches for Pro Labore Dei. On Saturday, they partnered with Filling the Gap-NFP which is a faith-based restorative organization dedicated to providing dignified and transformational housing to those in need. They completed a full spring cleanup at the Sycamore House (one of the residences), including removal of weeds, leaves, branches and debris and created new flowerbeds to beautify the property. They also assembled “blessing bags” for a local shelter.
