Camp Marist Kickoff 1
Summer is officially underway at Camp Marist! Over the course of two weeks, Session 1 was filled with adventure, laughter, new friendships, and the traditions that have made Camp Marist a special place for generations of campers and families.

The excitement began on Opening Day as campers arrived eager to settle into their cabins, meet their counselors, reconnect with old friends, and begin making new ones. Before long, camp was buzzing with activity as everyone settled into the rhythm of summer.

Campers Gather for an Evening Program at Camp Marist
As the sun sets over Camp Marist, Session 1 campers gather for an evening program, one of the many traditions that brings the camp community together throughout the summer.

Each day offered something different. Campers challenged themselves on the Ropes Course, tested their aim at archery, explored the trails on horseback, raced go-karts, enjoyed the waterfront, and made the most of beautiful New Hampshire summer weather. Whether trying a new activity or returning to a favorite, every day brought another opportunity to build confidence, learn something new, and simply enjoy being together.

One of the highlights of the first week was International Night, a longtime Camp Marist tradition celebrating the many countries represented by members of the camp staff. Counselors shared their cultures, traditions, and stories, giving campers the opportunity to experience the richness of an international community and learn from one another in a fun and meaningful way.

The first Champagnat Awards of the summer were also presented during Session 1. Named in honor of St. Marcellin Champagnat, the awards recognize campers and staff members who exemplify Marist values through kindness, leadership, service, and a genuine concern for others. These recognitions celebrate the everyday moments that help make Camp Marist such a welcoming and caring community.

The Fourth of July brought another memorable celebration as campers and staff marked the 250th anniversary of the United States' Independence. While Camp Marist welcomes people from around the world each summer, the celebration centered on values that resonate across cultures, including freedom, gratitude, respect, and community. The day featured games, ice cream, cake, plenty of photos, and concluded with a spectacular fireworks display!

Campfire Memories at Camp Marist
Campers and a counselor enjoy an evening around the campfire during Session 1 of the 2026 Camp Marist summer season. Campfire gatherings remain one of Camp Marist's most cherished traditions, bringing the community together through stories, laughter, and friendship.

As the session drew to a close, campers headed out for the annual Trip Day, hiking to beautiful waterfalls where they explored the trails, cooled off in the water, and enjoyed the outdoors together. That evening, everyone gathered back at camp for one final campfire, roasting marshmallows, sharing stories, and reflecting on an incredible two weeks.

From the first day of camp to the final campfire, Session 1 was filled with the moments that define the Camp Marist experience. New friendships were formed, confidence grew, and campers returned home with memories that will stay with them long after the summer ends.

This week, Camp Marist welcomed its Session 2 campers, who are already settling into cabins, getting to know their counselors, and beginning their own Camp Marist adventure. Session 2 continues through July 25, and another two weeks of fun, friendship, and unforgettable memories are already underway.
