The Marist Brothers USA Province launched its 2025 Laudato Si’ Action Plan, marking the tenth anniversary of Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’: On Care for Our Common Home.
Developed through a grassroots, student-led process, the plan calls all Marists to embrace ecological spirituality and action. Local communities have committed to initiatives such as reducing plastic waste, planting gardens, adopting renewable energy, and integrating ecology into prayer and education.
The plan follows the seven goals of the global Laudato Si’ Action Platform, linking care for creation with faith, service, and justice. “We embrace the call to live more gently upon the Earth and to sow seeds of hope for the young people we serve,” said Sam King, Ecology Coordinator.
