Dear Friends,
Br. John dreaded the stairs! He winced with pain every night as he climbed up to his bedroom.
We considered moving Br. John to our 4-story facility with an elevator. But that solution was quickly tabled.
You see, this home sits on a 120-acre property where we also maintain a retreat center for adult and youth programs. The elderly Brothers may be retired but they play a vital role in our retreats, devoting time to guests and often mentoring students. Br. John’s participation would be sorely missed.
So, we installed an efficient stair lift in the home. The financial cost was steep – nearly $4,700 – although the investment will serve Br. John today as well as many more senior Brothers for years to come.
The stair lift will allow these good men, who each devoted his entire adult life to the Marist mission and ministries, to move between floors with independence. No more worries about disastrous falls!
The only challenge we still face is the stair lift’s $4,700 cost!
We pray that you’ll remember our elderly and disabled Brothers this Easter with a special gift toward this essential purchase. Whatever you can afford to share will be an enormous help and greatly appreciated. I cannot stress enough how much every gift matters!
Your gift will be such a blessing!
During this Easter season, as we celebrate our risen Lord, Jesus Christ, I have faith that you will help us with a gift. My Brothers and I will thank God for your kindness in our special Easter devotions.
We look forward to hearing from you. Until then, know that every Marist
Brother wishes you and your loved abundant peace, joy, and happiness during this glorious Easter season.
God bless you for caring,

Br. Dan O’Rior Fdan, .M.S. Provincial
