Brother Donald Richard, F.M.S., has dedicated over six decades to Marist education and ministry. He began his formation at St. Joseph Novitiate in Tyngsboro, MA, in 1949, receiving the Marist habit in 1950 and professing his first vows in 1951. He completed his scholasticate at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY, earning a BA in French, and later pursued an MA in French at St. John’s University. His teaching and leadership roles took him across the U.S. and abroad, including assignments at Central Catholic H.S. (Lawrence, MA), Christ the King H.S. (Middle Village, NY), and Bishop Carroll H.S. (Ebensburg, PA). He served multiple times at St. Mary’s H.S. in Manhasset, NY, as teacher, principal, and guidance counselor, and also held athletic and finance roles at other Marist institutions, including Roselle Catholic H.S. in NJ, where he has served since 1983. His lifelong commitment to Marist education is also marked by his international formation experience in Rome and his ministry at Camp Marist in New Hampshire.
