Br. Michael Sheerin was a candidate with the Marist Brothers from 1969-1974, during which time he worked at Christ the King High School in Middle Village, NY. He entered the Marist Novitiate at Cold Spring-on-Hudson, NY in 1974. He professed his first vows in 1975 and his perpetual vows in 1980. He holds a BA in Religious Studies from Queens College, an MS in Religious Studies from Fordham University as well as an APD in Pastoral Counseling and Spiritual Direction. He served as a teacher, campus minister and guidance counselor at Archbishop Molloy High School (1975-86 and 1988-94). He also has worked in parish ministry at St. Barbara’s Parish in Brooklyn, NY (1986-88), served the Province as Vocation Director (1994-2000 and 2007-2015) and was a Provincial Councilor (2006-09). He was Director of Residence Ministry at St. John’s University in Queens, NY (2000-07). He is a campus minister and spiritual director at St. John’s (2015-Present) and director of the Marist Community of Welcome in Flushing, NY (2022-Present).
