Br. Joseph McAlister celebrates his 60th Jubilee as a Marist Brother this year. He entered the Marist Brothers Postulancy in 1960 and received his Marist Habit in 1961. He has served as a teacher at Central Catholic High School (Lawrence, MA), and Cardinal Hayes High School (Bronx, NY). He worked as a teacher and counselor at Roselle Catholic High School (Roselle, NJ), Marist High School (Bayonne, NJ) and Our Lady of Good Council High School (Newark, NJ). He was the director of the Marist Retreat house in Esopus as well as the St. Bridget’s AIDS Network in Newark, NJ. He earned two Master’s Degrees in Counseling and Religious Education and continues to serve our Senior Brothers in Champagnat Hall.
