Dear Friends of the Brothers,
Autumn greetings! I cannot believe we are in October already! The leaves are turning to bright reds and yellows and there is a crispness in the morning air. We hope you and your loved ones have time to enjoy this beautiful season.
October is the month traditionally dedicated to the Rosary. One of the practices that we Marist Brothers have is the daily recitation of the Rosary during October. Our elderly and disabled Brothers truly enjoy this tradition and look forward to it.
In addition to the existing three Mysteries of the Rosary (the Joyful, The Sorrowful and the Glorious) one new development that our elderly Brothers are getting used to is the “Mysteries of Light” introduced by the late Pope John Paul II:
- the Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan,
- Jesus’ first miracle at the Wedding Feast at Cana,
- the poor have the Gospel of Good News preached to them by Jesus,
- the Transfiguration, and
- The Last Supper before Jesus’ death.
May these invigorating days of early autumn bring you the memory of things old and the experience of things new. And know that you, your loved ones and your intentions are being remembered each day by our elderly and disabled Brothers.
Sincerely yours,
